"When asked how He and why He chose Elaine, God said, "Well, when I heard Elaine calling out to me for help, I just had to pitch in. I mean, she's been a pretty good person and she seemed really sincere about wanting my assistance. Unfortunately, that meant that I had to let go of the section of the building that I was holding at the time and it collapsed, crushing 1,027 people. On the bright side, Elaine did make it a point to give me all the credit, and hey, isn't that what it's all about anyway?" While Lucifer was unavailable for comment, one of his minions said that "...with enemies like this, we may just be able to close up early!" She could also blame god for hurting her so badly, if she recalled that Jerry Falwell said that the WTC was destroyed by the same god. She is just paying the price for god's hatred of gay rights and feminism. God clearly wanted to kill her, he just screwed up. These darn theists just can never be get things right.

Makes me wonder why god heard and saved Elaine but apparently failed to hear and save the thousands of others that died that terrible day. I wonder if Elaine, in her selfishness, thought at all about this before making such a stupid comment. Does Elaine think that the people buried under tons of rubble, alive and hurt for days before they died not pray hard enough to be saved? Did Elaine think the families of the victims appreciate the fact that she was saved by god but their loved ones were not? Did Elaine think she was more worthy of saving in god's eyes than, say, the children who died in the WTC? This, to me, smacks of such selfishness. Why? Because I would find it hard to give credit to a god who supposedly decided to save me but let thousands of others die. Personally, I couldn't give the credit to such a monster. Sometimes it's depressing to know I actually share a planet with people like this. Sandy |

I said it before and I shall say it again:
I honestly think Christians don't logically think of the events when they credit god or blame the devil, it's just a habit (like masturbation ). |

Come on guys, this is a litlle old lady, quoted by the newspapers. (and you know what newspapers do with people's quotes) Don't tell me none of you has never said something like "Oh my god". It is meaningless and rooted in the education of most of us.

Aside from that little lesson for your behalf, I'm sure this little old lady was most sincere in her proclamation that she prayed and god saved her. From my experience, people who make these proclamations are usually DEAD serious. Sandy |
