Talking "TalkOrigins, that dark den of propaganda misinformation for materialism"

This guy on Theology Forums (NOT TheologyWeb) is hilarious. He started off by making this sarcastic assertion about whale evolution:

Quote:
Call me when any of them grows a leg, will ya.
Someone ( ) posted a picture of an atavistic whale hindlimb from TalkOrigins, which basically embarrassed him in front of the entire forum. Instead of addressing the argument, Jorge immediately resorts to ad hominem:

Quote:
Oh no, please, not Talk.Origins! I wrote an article about that dark den of misinformation. If you're interested, find it here:
http://www.trueorigin.org/to_deception.asp
After another poster pointed out how he was basically owned up the wazoo in the rebuttal, he wrote:

Quote:
FYI, I read the pathetic "rebuttal" several times, had my reply all written up, and my friend Tim Wallace (of TrueOrigin) talked me out of it with the simple and wise words "Don't waste your time."

I didn't waste my time then and - guess what? - I'm not going to waste it now.
Finally, he said

Quote:
There was nothing "misguided" or "ad hominem" about my article. I stand by it today as I did when I first wrote it.

Talk.Origins is a propaganda center for materialistic naturalism. They allow a few theistic evolutionists to walk in their corridors for reasons that I mention in my article (and for other reasons). However, most Talk.Origins 'volunteers' are anti-Christian/pro-Naturalism advocates (why don't you conduct a poll and see for yourself?).
Now, this is pretty funny and almost cost me an irony meter (luckily, I got the "Pot'N'Kettel Safety Fuse" model) but I'm wondering if anyone here has had experience with this guy in particular. He seems almost as rude as Socrates on TW, and that's saying a lot.

P.S. As always, feel free to come over and post. :P

I've seen ol' Jorge around on various fora - he's even in Talk.origins' directory of evo/cre personalities. I have yet to see him give a straight answer to anything, even once: instead, he will launch off into a discussion of how poor your understanding of the topic is, even when he's shown he knows nothing about that topic.
Reach around to the far side of him, puncture him with a pin, and let the BS out, and you could bury him in a matchbox. The little size matchbox.

You have to love that guy's .sig file:
Quote:
Though He slay me, yet I will trust in Him
That pretty much sums it up. We are supposed to admire such a sentiment?

Seems to be a case of ad homines rather than ad hominem

There you go again, bunny - haven't you yet learned that the interpretation of an observation is NOT the same thing as the observation itself? Obviously, you haven't!
Haha. I don't know how some of you guys can sustain being subjected to such thorough idiocy, but in any event, to quote Mike Tyson's post-fight malapropism on respect: "I take my hand off to you".

Poor old Jorge; that's about the fourth or fifth forum I've seen him on. If he runs true to form, he'll flee to other pastures once he gets beat up enough times.

You might want to ask him where the rebuttal to the rebuttal to his True Origins article is. He had promised on ages ago, but it seems not to have materialized....

After reading that ~Elsewhere~ thread he started, I think I lost a few more IQ points...

And he's already explained his reasons for delaying the TO rebuttal--which ties in nicely with his reasons for refusing to address Bible contradictions :

"FYI, I read the pathetic "rebuttal" several times, had my reply all written up, and my friend Tim Wallace (of TrueOrigin) talked me out of it with the simple and wise words 'Don't waste your time.' I didn't waste my time then and - guess what? - I'm not going to waste it now.

Which, as we all know, is the Intarweb equivalent of "the dog ate my homework" but even more obvious.

And if we graciously grant for the sake of the argument that he did write the rebuttal, by his own admission it must have been so incredibly bad that even Tim Wallace didn't want to have anything to do with it.

If I was Jorge, I'd stick with "dog ate my homework".

Well, don't be too hard. Dogs do eat homework from time to time. A programmer I knew back in the 70s was in a fix because his baby ate his royalty cheque. It was a fairly chaotic household with three children under 5.
