Default Bush says WMD's were stolen!!

How many explanations can this guy come up with!

"For more than a decade, Saddam Hussein went to great lengths to hide his weapons from the world. And in the regime's final days, documents and suspected weapons sites were looted and burned," Bush said in his weekly radio address.

It is believed to be the first time Bush has cited looting to explain the inability of U.S. forces to uncover chemical or biological weapons in Iraq, a U.S. official said.

Do you think there will be any independent verification of this story? Or will the media and/or Congress ever hold this administration to some sort of ethical standard?

If looters took this material, we should expect to see evidence of contamination, like was seen at Tuwaitha, the nuclear facility found looted after the fall of Baghdad. The longer this stuff remains in an unknown location within the civilian population, the more deaths should be seen. It should be tragically obvious where the material has been taken, if not by now then very soon.

This claim can be verified - or falsified - easily. It is an improvement over previous claims.

This is stupid...

Even if he's absolutely correct, even if this explains EVERYTHING!!!

There were those of us who, before the war, said that war would make it more likely that any WMDs saddam had would fall into the hands of the terrorists. And the pro-war people said 'Oh pshaw!!! That's just SILLY you french-smelling little wussies!'

So... Again, assuming bush is accidenally telling nothing but the unvarnished truth... Exactly how does this excuse his actions?

Just once I would like to hav the media call him on this nonsense. For the WMD's to have been looted is unfeasable. According to his own documents there hundreds of thousands of tons material you can't just walk off with that sort of thing. On top of that if the facilities were looted there would still be evidence such as manufacturing facilities and contamination of storage facilities. We have found nothing.

If the media lets this slide they should be charged as traitors.

So he managed to protect virtually ALL the oil fields, but left EVERY WMD site unchecked, ungaurded, and allowed to be looted?

Does Bush really want to walk this line?

He has clearly run out of plausible excuses.

Default Looted and burned?

What a festering load of shit this one is. Rumsfeld told he knew where they were. Such an announcement would have made sense three months ago when our troops would have announced 'We're at the sites, but dang the luck, they've been looted and burned.'

Such an announcement three months delayed is just plain ridiculous, and I agree that the media should be pouncing on this one. It's ludicrous on its face.

But yet Bush et al. knew exactly where they were pre-war, knew the exact amounts of them, and yet allowed them all to be looted and burned?

Yeah, right...and I've got a bridge to sell 'ya.

If he's right, it makes him look like an idiot. If he's wrong, it makes him look like an idiot. So why exactly did he put this "explanation" out there?

How many months till election???
