I suppose the religiously motivated violence against abortion providers, homosexuals, etc. are all just super as well. Quote:
Waiting until the origin of the universe is actually discovered by scientists testing hypotheses and collecting evidence is counter-intuitive for someone who takes the word of the bible as fact, and then looks for "evidence" that somehow supports it afterwards. In his mind, following the evidence towards the conclusion is backwards, we should take the (biblical)conclusion and then look for supporting evidence. |

Agreed. Of course the 'meaningful' question to you is: will you be living in hell?

"If a tree cries for attention in the forest and no one is around to care..."
This sounds like something that a religious philosopher might say. Are you saying that truth only exists when apperceived by the observer? EDIT: oops,...and why would you "care" at all? Darkbronze, any answer? Walrus [ August 26, 2002: Message edited by: WJ ]
|

Does or can atheism offer any political benefits here in America? We are forgetting that there was a time in the "Western World" when everyone (except for some damned Jews) was a Christian. A time when every civil government and every institute of learning acknowledged their obedience and submission to God and His church on Earth. A time when everyone praised Jesus and every knee was bent to him. That time was called "The Dark Ages" |

Since the Enlightenment, barbarity has only rarely been given a false disguise of respectability that alleges that it is "for the good". During the heyday of christianity, barbarity was often a "ticket to heaven", a pious endeavor. [ August 26, 2002: Message edited by: Bible Humper/ SCoW ]
|

Don't I deserve an answer to anything I said?
Am I taboo or something? You can just wave your hand in the sign of the cross and magically banish all of the bad voodoo of answering me, so please do. |
