The way so many Christians talk it sure seems that way.
Jesus brings them their breakfast, lunch supper, gets them jobs, heals what ails them, fixes football games. "Yo Jesus! get me another burger, whoa that’s a little rare, take it back and put it on the grill a little longer would ya. And while you’re up I need another beer. Thanks chief." You’d think he was there own little butt boy, God do this, God do that, give us this. Yadda yadda yadda. I’m surprised he doesn’t scream “Get off your lazy ass and do it yourself! What do ya think I gave you those arms and legs for?” |

If that were true, there'd be a lot more lottery winners. Quote:

Jesus is more than a man. He is part of the Trinity of God.
Jesus taught us to pray for what we need. A lottery win isn't quite what we need. We also have this promise that the Holy Spirit will "augment" our prayers and fill in the blanks of our prayers. Romans 8 26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will. |

Jesus is a man and only a man. There is a gulf between man on the one hand, and God on the other hand. One cannot be both. Even the Bible denies that God can be a man (see Numbers 23:19: "God is not a man ... nor the son of man ..."). Quote:
God is not a trinity, God is a unity. If God were a trinity, each part of the trinity would be a god within a limited sphere. |
