It's because they are dangerous and represent a challenge. They also represent very good and wild sex to the woman.

God, I just can't disagree enough. "Bad boys" often (in my experience) have an over-inflated sense of ability and have a tendency to be quite selfish in bed. Its all about how "cool" they are and you apparently should just enjoy the fact they've selected you for their attentions. In other words, they are more infatuated with themselves and their image than with you. Musicians, in my experience, often fall into this category.

If "wild sex" means they get all liquored up, shove your skirt up, pull your hair, then finish in 40 seconds flat, well I guess they qualify.

Of course we are totally talking in generalities here. I'm sure there are plenty of "bad boys" who are fab in the sack.

But my experience has been that nice guys, even the ones who are shy until you get to know them, are SO much sexier and SO SO SO much better in bed.

I've never been with a musician, so I wouldn't know. I am not too turned on by tats either. I am just stating that that is their allure. I have always been with bad boys, but then maybe I turned them bad. I'm actually a jock girl, but I hate sports....just like the muscles.

I might also add that good guys are sexier if you get past the initial interaction and really get to know them. Sometimes it is more erotic and sexier to be able to connect with someone's mind than it is to be with some muscular, rough and tough guy. So all in all, the good guys are the best pick.

Evo-bio again, after reading previous female postings.

Females in their most fertile reproductive period are attracted to aggressive "bad boys" and add "Bad" genes to the female gene pool. Staying with such males for the long run is not a good strategy, thus reproduction with the loyal "good boy" who stays around to help raise all offspring is the next step.

I don't think that being shy is an exclusive characteristic of "good boys". Bad boys are usually the aggressive and obnoxious sorts, which young females are naturally attracted to, but there are many shy "bad boys". Many a young female has made the mistake of marrying a shy guy who turns out to be a wife beating cheating bastard, who leaves her and their offspring as soon as another chick comes along.

I think Darwin was totally correct with his view that the primary sex which does sexual selection is the female. Females are more wired to look more closely at the males as prospective mates. Males, especially young ones, have one thing on their minds, and most females can provide that thing.

The women posters here talk a lot about trying to figure out what the male is really like. I will bet that few males here would take such a track. Some have said that sex with a "shy nice boy" is better that a raging "bad boy". Well, I see Darwin anwering why that is true. The considerate gentle lover gives the female the message that he cares about her and thus may care about offspring. The raging moron is out the door in the morning leaving the female and any future offspring alone.

Who is the woman? I'm sorry but I just have to laugh at that statement. haha

I like intelligent men with a good sense of humor who like women with long dark hair.

This thread is a false dichotomy, but I just had to laugh out loud.

If he's really nice, maybe he's more willing to be bad for you than the bad guy is to be good for you. Just a thought.

I love tall, dark and handsome bad boys. I am always cheering the villians on. I am totally star-struck/star-lusted by--don't laugh--Christopher Walken. Bad boys are fun to play with.

However, I should mention that I'm married to one of the good guys. He is exactly the type most mothers would want for their daughters. He's a white hat.

It's very sad when he tells our dog that he is evil and she should respect him and she gets her ball and wags her tail at him. Also kind of funny to be honest.

Thank you for being a living example of the forces of female sexual selection.

I am amazed at how the female posters have basically backed up the Darwinian perspective. Amazed.
