Post Reason for other planets?

One thing I've never heard a suitable answer from creationists is why God created the other planets. The other planets(as well as their moons) are for the most part lifeless hunks of rock and gas. There are only a few places in our solar system which could one day support life--Mars, the Jovian moons Europa and Ganymede, and also the Saturn moon of Titan.
So why would God create fairly useless planets?

Um, because if they didn't exist, the universe might look like it was created just for us, which would be evidence for Jesus, which would defeat the whole point: faith in Jesus must be based on our love for Him, not on evidence. But I like Rufus' answer too.

So we could all marvel at the sheer amount of random useless crap God made.

He had to make other stars & planets because He realized: how else would we know our zodiac signs? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Actually, this isn't a very good argument if you run across a creationist who supports the idea of humankind colonizing/mining other planets in the solar system. He could simply say that God created the planets for our use when we eventually developed space travel.
