Question The degredation of Gods image

Should the Supreme Court rulings decalring the 10 C's and In God We Trust as ceremonial and non-deistic or "historical" have a negative reflection on the image of God? Dosen't taking the ultimate power out of these things defeat the purpose that the religious right is pushihng so hard to set inplace?

If these phrases and documents are stripped of their religious underpinings dosen't that demean the faith that these people hold so dear?

One would hope so.

Of course, that's why Americans United for Separation of Church and State is headed by a minister and takes a decidedly pro-religion stance. True Christians don't want their religious symbols prostituted to American patriotism.

On the subject of paying homage to history, why don't we Americans pledge our loyalty to Queen Elizabeth II?

[Well, Elizabeth I, but who's counting?]

Yes! The tables will have turned!
Instead of Canada becoming American, you will all have become.. Canadianized!

Oh, us loyal, previously-Commonwealth countries.
We're like puppies, really.

I mentioned Queen Liz II because she's the current monarch of the United Kingdom, the US's parent country. Queen Liz I was long ago.

But Queen Elizabeth I is a part of our history. Queen Elizabeth II is only a part of our alternate scenario history, if our founding fathers had read the holy scripture and realized the logic and necessity of the divine right of kings, as proclaimed by Paul in Romans.

Thumbs down

Fine. Then as part of our "history" we Americans should all bow before King George III.
