Well, many muslims claim that the koran is the source of all science. If you can bear it, have a look at this thread.

I mean, really, look at the flood model adopted by some creationists. The scenario they are reduced to,in order to make such a thing work,is easily in the realm of fiction, yet they persist in trying to defend the undefendable. The problem I find,is that,no matter the explination, the fundamentalist religious person has to defend it,in order to preserve their entire belief system. No matter the absurdity, they must attack all beliefs that are contrary. After all,if they don't know what the nature of reality is,the truth as some call it,they have no possible hope of a life after death. They must be correct, othertwise, they can kiss their afterlife good bye. |

I was in Atlanta a few years back, and traveled a bit of the south while I was down there... I have two words to describe it: Brain Dead
It reminds me of that joke from Last Comic Standing: How can you explain evolution to people who it obviously hasn't happened to? I think the monkeys would be offended to think that they evolved into that. This is the same area of the country that is trying to either get the teaching of scientific evolution out of the schools, or get the teaching of creationism into it, and letting the students decide for themselves what they would believe... Is that kind of like teaching: Yes kids... Christopher Columbus discovered America. Then the next day teaching: Yes kids.. unlike what I said yesterday, America was really discovered by Sponge Bob SquarePants. I felt like I had somehow traveled to a different dimension of ignorance and stupidity. If I did learn one thing though... It's never take the 'truth of life' from someone who can't figure out the truth of dental hygiene. Or truth that the south LOST the war.... |
