Idiots among us.
I stick to my stated goal: to prove using only the Bible that the Sun is not a star. What the bible proves is that the bible is not a reliable source for science. |

Oh good, so when another creationist comes along with the statement that the Bible is accurate on science, we can tell him that the Bible clearly states that the Sun is not a star, and how does he feel about that? Should be entertaining.

Let him keep on like this, and he'll be saying the Bible proves the Earth is not round!

Of course he's overlooking that most people living today--and quite likely during biblical times as well--commonly classify "the sun" and "stars" as different things. When anybody says "sun" you know what they mean: that big bright thing in the sky during the day; and when they say "stars" you also know what they mean: those little twinkly things in the sky at night.
This is something like the "bats are birds" conundrum in reverse. In that case they argue that the Bible is not scientifically inaccurate in calling bats "birds" because the original word refers to pretty much anything that flies (although I'm not aware of anybody nowadays who considers bats to be a kind of bird). |

Of course it's not a star. It's a furnace. I have proof too:

Amazing, the structural strength of the human skull. Otherwise his head would implode.

Well actually, the First Story of Creation would have the sun and moon as actual gods or some sort of deities. The verse claims that the sun and moon will have dominion over day and night. How does an inanimate object have dominion over anything.
So the guy is right. The sun isn't a star, according to the bible, its a god who just happens to look like a star. |
