Post Another separation lawsuit

Another lawsuit that needs to be fought and won. Maybe this will open the eyes of some of these xtian fundies pushing for religious teaching in school.

[sarcasm] Ahh but that's different - it's Islam!!
We can't have that in our schools![/sarcasm]

Just as the recent ruling revealed, it's OK to have government-endorsed religion, as long as it's the religion that the majority believes in.

*sigh*

This is an old story - I thought they had settled it by now. Schools in California and many other states are required to teach middle school students about religion, in order to promote tolerance. This school district used role playing, which is a useful technique, but they did it where they should not have.

The people bringing the lawsuit are those fundies, trying to make trouble for multi-cultural programs.

Maybe this is a good place for a plug for <a href="http://www.teachingaboutreligion.org" target="_blank">Teaching About Religion</a> and its companion site <a href="http://www.teachingaboutreligion.com" target="_blank">Different Drummers</a>, which are teaching materials designed for these middle school courses.
