Islam is a peaceful religion? A single article about Prophet Muhammad came out and 215 people died. You decide.

For me, I stopped considered Islam is a religion and more toward some cult which went too far in term of existence. Christians seems to have more intolerance toward non-believers than Islam does.

It's not the Islam isn't a peacefull religion.
Surely, it is no worse then Christianity.

It is just that many of the countries that are mostly inhabited by Muslims are ruled by fundamental Islamic extremists.

Islam needs a reformation.
If it doesn't happen on its own I have little doubt the US and it's allies will eventually lend a helping hand in making it happen.

My reply : You are very sure about that? That Islam is no worse than Christianity?

Do you know what is the judgement for leaving Islam by its followers? (I cannot answer it since I promise someone in another forum that I won't condemn Islam because of the punishment). What is the punishment under Christianity for those who leave Christanity?
How about Muslims considering non-believers (Kafirs) as firewood for Hell? Anyone who convert into Islam will have to change their family name to Abdullah.
Food and drink made by Kafirs are considered dirty and cannot be eaten by Muslims. If you ask why, Muslims will say that food stuffs which is haram (either because mixed with meat uncut by a Muslim or such excuses) will cause some unknown black "patch"/meat inside their body which will be cause of Muslims' downfalls such as greed etc. Christian has such beliefs? I don't think so.

I can go on and on and on about Muslims and their so-called fair treatment of non-Muslims in a Muslim country since I live in one. How about you?

My reply : This is not the case of present day alone, this is been like this for the past 1,400 years. Do you know that Islam is the only "religion" which consider itself modern YET have not produced a SINGLE country/society which could be considered educated, well-developed and in peace with each other or outside world on its own (without help of non-Muslims) for the past 1,400 years?

My reply : I love to see you go to Saudi Arabia or any Mid-East Asian countries and voice out opinion of yours in a market place. IF you did so and still managed to leave that country in ONE piece, I will agree that Islam is a religion and no better than Christianity or any other religion, and it is peaceful indeed.

My reply : No use. The problem never the people, it is their belief. Islam never a teaching that supposed to make people live happily, it is to teach them how to prepare themselves to live in paradise after that, which why so many eager to die as maryt. You cannot overthrown a leader and expect problems to be solve. It will continue because that is the fate of Muslim - to kill or die trying.

The Bible is filled with justification for similar acts.
It's the followers that in modern times mostly reject fundamentalism.

Is modern Islam more violent or extreme then Christianity from 500 to 1600 AD? I don't believe so. I understand that I just made a very generic statement regarding Christianity. And along the way there were many non-violent groups and sects.
Just like many Muslims are not violent and do not take everything in their religious texts as literal.

But the history of Christianity is just as violent.

This has nothing to do with religion. It is just that having a beauty pageant in the 16th century would have got you all stoned to death. When will people understand that the biggest problem of this planet is the two or three speed thing.
I mean many places are not fit for this modern type of display of human flesh. Many places are still very conservative and backward. (this includes the American heartland). It is therefore provocative and foolish to organize such an event there.
Long time ago, I lived in Cairo. There was a Club Med in Cairo, and the "members" where doing tours through Cairo in see through tops. Now, while I liked it, I can assure you that for the average local, whom had never even seen his own wife naked this came as quite as shock. The girls in question where surprised when they were harrassed by the local. I mean basically the girls and the locals all had a low forehead.
