Default A quote that made me laugh

Quote:
Under the bill passed today, the government would provide up to $300 million a year for programs to promote healthy, stable marriages. The money could be used for premarital education and counseling.

Mr. Stark said this was a waste of money, "inspired by the Republicans' blind allegiance to holy rollers of the Christian right."
NYTimes

Ahh, I wish there were more quotes like this. I laughed out loud when I read it, more out of surprise than humor.

Mr. Stark is a Democratic Congressman from California. Another neat "fact" is that he's -28 years old. You heard right! That's from Your Congress. He's so forward-looking, he hasn't been born yet. heehee.

Yep, I was gonna post that too.

His birthdate shows 11/11/2031, so it was probably entered as 11/11/31, and defaulted to 2031, instead of 1931. Pretty funny though!

How soon they forget the lessons of Y2K.

Stark recently accepted an award from American Atheists, which tells you something about him and his district.

He is chairman of the board of trustees of Starr King School for the Ministry, which trains Unitarian ministers.

... because we just happen to have $300 million to throw away.

Bah!

Great quote, though.

It's nice to know that there's at least one member of Congress who isn't afraid to fight the religious right.
