Arrow ARN Forum Back Up

The ARN Forum seems to be back up, but I'm not sure it's fully functional yet.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the tip, Liz! (I knew I was addicted but I never knew how bad!)

Maybe... maybe not.

Meantime, there's always <a href="http://pub17.ezboard.com/bquestemp" target="_blank">this!</a>

The ARN Forum does appear to be up and working again, though with a number of rules changes.

Yeah, rule #1 all members must first give up all of their 1st amendment rights and individual thought.

Hey, Orpheous99, if you think that's something, wait 'till you see rule #6!

Gee, I can only make three posts a day? I'd better wait 'til the end of the day to see which three posts I want to respond to. That'll encourage the free flow of ideas... NOT.

Not sure who came up with these rules. Maybe someone who wanted to discourage discussion on what is supposed to be a discussion forum.

This reminds me of a certain boss who, rather than confront individual miscreants, would issue company-wide memos addressed "To all staff," complaining about some kind of infraction of company rules. The offender never seemed to get the point, and everybody else was confused.

From what I've observed, the creos/IDers have been the nastiest, the ad hominest, of the participants. I suppose it's not okay to reprimand them one-on-one. Everybody's gotta suffer.

Question

Hi Lizard,

Well, I don't know what to make of it. On the one hand, the very first person to start a thread on the reopened forum has already been warned because he started more than one thread (rule #7 violation), and one of his two threads was locked.

On the other hand, one of the new moderators, jazzraptor, posted another message (in a thread where people are challenging the new rules) suggesting that the new rules may or may not be etched in stone, and may or may not be followed all that rigorously. So who knows?

Liz: "...the ad hominest...."

Me: Oh yeah? Well, you're more ad hominer than I am!
