TCS article on "the two skepticisms"
There is a good article on Tech Central Station today about "the two skepticisms" - i.e. junk science skepticism and pseudo-science skepticism. As a strong proponent of both, I agree that skeptics of all stripes should be more united and cooperate with each other.
One good example mentioned is health quackery, where the two sides examine a lot of claims and politics involved in the issue and could cooperate with each other. Although I'm sure some skeptics on the pseudo-science side must hold unskeptical views on the environment, I don't think it's the majority. http://www.techcentralstation.com/1051/envirowrapper.jsp?PID=1051-450&CID=1051-020402C (if the link doesn't work, look in the Science section) [ February 04, 2002: Message edited by: Franc28 ]
|
