I arrived, I read some of the interesting stuff on this site. A little different. There are some lost souls here, no doubt. Perhaps I shouldn't be here, but God works in my life, so I posted a small testimony in what looked like the correct forum - something about belief in God(s).
The words you're looking for are "Existence of God(s)." It's where we debate the evidence and logic behind the belief.

It is not where we witness. We witness here, in the proverbial dungeon. You Xns seem to enjoy the persecution ambiance of it.

It was my pleasure. I haven't seen a testimonial more formulaic and banal than yours in a very long time.

Perhaps you feel compelled to write down your deeply melodramatic life story. You appear to be unable to resist telling us all about yourself. You haven't noticed that we didn't ask, nor have we even accidentally expressed the slightest bit of interest.

What we are interested in are facts and logic.

Unless you start thinking with your brain and not your "heart," the only attention you'll get here will be negative.

In other words, if you insist upon telling us detailed stories about wealthy and emptiness and drug habits and all-time lows, here's a quarter.

I put in my 2 cents when this gutsy man spoke up and said, "What was it that you didn't believe about the Bible when you read it?" I hadn't. No big deal, No fear. I just told him that I hadn't read it, so there. He rebuttled by, " Oh an opinion based on ignorance and not knowledge - I see?" and it was over and done with.
What you'll find here is that unlike you pre-conversion, many of the non-Christians here have read the Bible. Some of them probably know it better than you do.

Are you prepared for that?

I didn't notice any 'conversing' - just a long, pointless, dull, zero-information-content evangelistic ramble. Are you going to advance any arguments, evidence, philosophy, interesting observations, humour; or ask a question as to what others believe and why?

As my mum used to say*: time to shit or get off the pan.

* OK, that was a white lie.

Hi Robinsin,

I don't mean to be rude, but all you've shown us all is that you are a very gullible person, and that you were always ideal fodder for evangelist Christian weirdos.

OK, I know that's offensive. But it isn't meant to be, I'm just trying to explain that saying that sort of thing won't convince anyone. You're being patronizing, and assuming that we all believe in your magical sky-god thing. You must realise that most of the people here think of the idea of there being a God as laughably idiotic.

If you want to really convince us, then give us some evidence - and not just descriptions of how you 'feel'. I doubt such evidence exists, but you never know.

Enjoy your millions. Good to see that drug dealers always get what they deserve. Er...

Default DMB's Guide to Marketing

There are two kinds of marketing:

The sort where you're competing with others to supply stuff that people need.
The sort where you're trying to flog stuff that people are very happy without.
The key to the second sort is to create a "need".

For example, "Let's make people anxious that they're not Saved.

"What's Saved?"

"It doesn't much matter. Just work hard on creating the anxiety.--Then..."

Robinsin,

It's very nice of you to want to bring us into the fold. If you were feeling empty before and now you're not, that's fine. But, speaking for myself (and many others here, I'll guess), my sense of self-worth is adequate. I don't need anyone or anything else to tell me what I need to do in order to feel good about myself. I don't need to bask in the glory of anything except life itself. Especially a crackpot god that insists that it's his way or the highway.

If you feel the Bible led you to wisdom, then maybe you need to really understand the Bible. The book about God, by men. Let Mr. Barker help you out.

Excerpt from chapter 23 of Losing Faith in Faith by Dan Barker
