Exploding missionary lies
Had an argument with two christians over persecution of christians in India. Then run across an article in Asiatimes saying the missionaries are being targeted because Christianity "upsets the social order that allows the rich to oppress the poor". Went purple and so set up a purple webpage showing half the time they are making up the stories and the tactics they are adopting like beating children in schools until they accept Christ:
mislies For some reason, Roman Catholics scream about persecution the most, while Baptists are more violent in spreading the gospel. [ April 16, 2002: Message edited by: hinduwoman ]
|

A commend you for taking a stand and getting the word out. The, what looks like Helevita type sections, and the blue on purple links are hard to read though.

Looks like black type on purple to me. I think it would be worth consider changing the color of the type or the background to make it more readable (yes, I know I can do it from my browser as well, but I don't think most people realize this). I just skimmed through it, but it seems to have some interesting information.

Yeah, received complaints about the look. Have changed the background to lime green and the type to black. I think it looks more user-friendly now.

Nice article, though I have a few nits to pick. The Syrian (Nestorian) Christians could not have been in India at 2 CE, because (1) this is before Paul's letters (about 30 CE) and (2) if Jesus Christ had existed, he would have been a little boy.
So something like 400 CE is more likely. But what prompted them to go on such journeys was undoubtedly their losing some battles over which doctrine was right; theologians would have vicious fights over such abstruse theological issues as whether God the Father and God the Son have the same essence (homoousia) or similar essences (homoiousia). |

Removed the date, simply said St. Thomas supposedly founded it and added the names of a few more churches. I actually never knew there were so many denominations!

Now there is a scandal over admission in Christian-run colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
These colleges were meant for Christians only. A number of Hindus students converted and entered the college. The courts are now hearing the case: It is either a case of coercion by the christian institutes. Or else it is a case of Hindus taking shameless advantage of college-rules with active collusion of the Christian adminstration. It is so ridiculous. |
