Post Answering Prayers

If there is a god that I should worship, then it seems that such a god would be required to answer non-selfish prayers for justice to take place (or even if such a prayer is slightly selfish). Otherwise, there would be no logical point in it--ethics aside.

Besides Jesus said--seek and ye shall find--knock and the door shall be opened--realizing that Jesus spoke metaphorically and with using hyperboles whenever possible--even when he said faith the size of a mustard seed (no such size can be measured) can move mountains, etc.

I am just saying here that proof of a god must reside in verifiable miracles--which none have occured to my knowledge--or responding to rational prayers in urgent circumstances or when logic should prevail anyway. And such is the case with my family situation where all I am asking is for things to settle down as they should. I gave god till this Friday to answer it, and he failed--so I am extending it for just one week. If you have read my pice on How the Brain Works had I gotten my prayer answered this week--because I backed away--then I would have gotten something akin to a miracle because a lunar cycle had not quite passed for when I backed out completely. By Friday of next week a lunar cycle will have passed--so if I get my prayers answered by then, then I won't regard it as being much of a miracle but something that logically should take place anyway. Anyway, I may blow having my prayers answered anyway because I may not cooperate. I am not willing to allow myself to go through any of this shit again. I will let you all know how things go though.

I should also let you know that I did not specifically pray for peace in my family because god is suppose to know your needs even before you ask for them. There is never any reason to inform god of your needs sayeth the bible. So, when I say I want my prayers regarding my family to be answered by the very next Friday--it is not like I clasp my hands together and asked for any such thing specifically--because I never did do such.

So, answered prayer is a miracle if it happens in less than a lunar cycle but otherwise it isn't?

I hope god chooses to follow that advice.

Answering prayers is all in the mind of the worhshipper anyway. something happens and he can think god has fulfilled his wish --- like the horoscope column.
