Notice how those guys always beg for donations?
They don't seem to have faith that the god they believe in will rain money down on them as if it was manna. |

Hehe. Maybe those poor guys who got laid off weren't "true xians", and this is the lard's revenge?

I subject myself to listening to FotF on the way to or from work some days. They've been crying about their declining revenue for months.
This morning's show was rather interesting, mostly because of a bit of irony I noticed in it. The show was on the evils of the Lottery, and how it was a "poor tax" taking much-needed money out of the hands of the poor (I can see their point on this). They mentioned the Xian dude that won the big powerball pot last year (of course, not mentioning that he was well-off to begin with), and how he had donated millions of his lottery winnings to a bunch of churches as a "tithe." They made the rather sanctimonious point that THEY would not accept that ill-gained money if it was offered to them. Of course, they'll gladly accept, and actively solicit for, $20 or more a month donations from anyone and everyone, no matter how destitute, even from retired people eking out a living on social security. I'm sure they would also insist that the poor are obligated to the 10% "tithe" to their local church as well. |

"The ministry, however, will continue several initiatives, including efforts to target young families, spread into new countries, reach a secular audience, improve outreach to blacks and expand on the Internet, Hetrick said."
Bring it on, a-hole! |

You guys all make me sick.
I am not a Christian, but for god's sake, do you have to make fun of them? And if you are going to comment about something, please, oh please, think about what you're saying! All this stuff about 'the Lord will provide' ... that has nothing to do with money coming down like manna, or donations. (Most) Christians realize that hard work makes things happen, and not some magical gift from heaven, but they also have good reason to believe that despite how little they have, they will always have something if they have faith in God - and that is enough. Read Job, it's all there. |

I don't make fun of Christians.
I make fun of lunatics. It just so happens that most "True Christian (TM)" organizations are lunatics. |
