Question Query of Homosexuality

I would like any response to the following questions.

-First what is the cause of Homosexuality?

I understand this is an unpopular question, usually answered by "What is the cause of Hetrosexuality?". So let me ask another question to help us answer the first.

-Do people or plants or animals have a natural state of being?

I will start there and we can progress toward a conculsion.

Thanks, Rick

The causes of homosexuality are likely equivalent to the causes of most other behaviors: genetics and environment.

I don't understand "state of being." Do you mean, what does nature intend for human sexuality? If so, that's an easy one. Nature doesn't intend any specific behaviors.

Okay, lets approach it this way:

Are genetics and environment the only causes of behavior, or is there such a thing as free will?

I don't know. Why don't you ask this question about left-handedness instead of homosexuality? Then we'd have an even better idea of where you're going with this line of questions.

Or you could just come right out and say what's on your mind. My take on homosexuality is that it is extremely similar to left-handedness on a moral, societal and behavioral level.

Well most plants have both sex organs.
Many animals show bi-sexual behavior.

For instance I have four homosexual frogs. I keep telling them they are going to hell but they keep mounting each other making wild croaking noises throughout the night. They have turned their pond into a gay bath house. Well there goes the neighborhood.

No specific "cause", as such, yet determined (except that most fundies, of course, blame satan)

You mean in terms of sexual preference? I don't think there is a "natural" state. There are preferences that are shared by the majority, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are "natural" - at least not in terms that would imply that anything "unnatural" must be specfically chosen by the individual as opposed to present at birth. Is that what you're trying to get at? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

There are species of all female lizards who reproduce through parthenogenesis.

Um, the croaking noise is the frog's way of saying "NOOOOOOO!", so what's going on in there is homosexual rape.

Seriously. One way we sex frogs is to pick them up by pinching them just behind the forelimbs. To them, it feels like another frog clasping them in amplexus. Male frogs protest by croaking, while the females sit quietly.

It's not a gay bathhouse you've got there -- it's Oz.
