Post Your "Personal Governing/Advisory Board"?

To Anyone here at Infidels: If you yourself are aware of having an interiorized and surely self-chosen "personal Governing/Advisory Board" [whose inputs, explicit ... e.g. in the form of quotations you've read ... or implicit = "what would Beethoven do?"... help you make "moral" decisions: all-this [pace Don] as perhaps an alternative to Xtians's use of biblical & gospel commandments & precepts Good Grief what kind of sentence IZZ Zis?} comma then WHO are the members of your Board? Abe

Oh, this is easy. When I'm faced with a difficult moral delimma, I just ask myself, "What would Sonny Barger do?" I'm never disappointed. Of course, I often end up in jail...

Hi Abe,

I don't do this on moral questions, but it sure is handy when deciding how to build parts for one of my race bikes to ask how one of my friends who happens to be a world-class innovator in the field might do things.

Of course, there is the problem that Tony is actually able to come up with innovative ideas, and I can't always do that.

So you run into the problem of asking yourself "how would someone superior to me in X field do this" when you lack the capability of operating at the higher level as the expert.

In the moral field, I'd say that Thomas Paine would certainly be a good start for a moral advisory board - far better than Jesus.

cheers,
Michael

What Would Ghandi Do?

Then, I have the correct moral choice--question is, do I go straight for that or...?
