Post Darwin vs. Gosse?

I've found this interesting essay on Darwin vs. Gosse (if you have trouble reaching it, try searching for "Darwin Gosse Roizen").

However, I think that one important point was only briefly touched upon: Philip Gosse's created-appearance hypothesis was essentially a version of the brain-in-a-box epistemological puzzler. Which means that it does not really say very much; it's not falsifiable in the way that evolution by natural selection is.
