Fundy christians are shizophrenic?
This is an idea I just wanted to put out there.
The more hardcore christians, the ones who say they've "felt the presence of god". Or something along those lines. Are they maybe very mildly shizophrenic(sp)? In other words, some shizophrenics hear voices for instance. Could undiagnosed very, very mild shizo's just feel a presence? And mistake this presence for God? I think it would be hilarious if the driving force behind christianity all these centuries turned out to be a very mild shizophrenia. |

I don't think that schizophrenia is ever "mild". Some religious experience is supposedly related to epilepsy, but I don't think that involves hearing voices.
And I think this topic has been covered thoroughly in Koy's active thread in Misc Relig Discussions, <a href="http://iidb.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=45&t=000134" target="_blank">The Psychosis of Theism</a> |

Huh? Schizophrenia is never mild? Well gee I think you're wrong but whatever. You don't offer much to support your view. I would contend that some people with schizophrenia manage to lead relatively normal lives while others don't.
And I doubt this topic has been covered "thoroughly", (which means about the same as completely), but I'll check it out. Thanks |
