Arbitrarily? Is there a standard higher than God to which He must be held accountable? On the contrary, I would suggest that He IS the standard. The laws we subject ourselves to are only necessary because of our propensity for evil acts. Not having any such propensity, God needs no such laws.

Why does god needs no such laws ? Is it because your god is the epitome of evil ? I could see a god who is supposed to be benevolent subjected to laws while a god who is evil incarnate would need no such obstructions.

Ever heard of 'might makes right' ? Your god sounds just like it.

You got it backwards. A good person needs no laws, because it's his good pleasure to do the right thing. It's the criminal who needs them.

Try, 'right makes might'.

Nice guys aren't always right. And I wouldn't call the man who kicked those money-changers out of the temple, called the pharisees a bunch of snakes, and told Peter, "Get behind me satan" a nice guy, exactly.

You entirely missed my point. My point was - how can God hate if I abort a 2 week old fetus, yet he goes around aborting 2 week old fetuses all the time?

Does that make sense to you? If God really saw abortion as an abomination as the Christians believe, than why does he allow them naturally (or even do them himself??)

If that makes sense to you, please explain. If that does not make sense to you - than why do you worship a god that you can't even understand even on a fundamental level?

The logic here seems to be that God is hypocritical because He doesn't restrain Himself from doing what He forbids us from doing. Tell me, if a child of 8 wants to drive the family car, are the parents hypocritical for doing what they forbade the child from doing?

Remember, murder is unjustified homicide. We humans become murderers when we kill people without the permission of a higher authority, legal or otherwise. Where is the higher authority who would give God permission?

If God had struck Hitler down in the womb, would you have thought that a bad thing? Maybe those spontaneous abortions are Hitlers in the making, destined to be deformed or mentally deficient, or whatever.

That of course begs the question of why any such defective humans are allowed to survive, but many parents have derived joy from raising such children. On 60 minutes years ago, they did an interview with a guy who was born without arms as a thalidomide baby. He was obviously glad to be alive. Painted pictures with a brush between his toes, and made a good living at it.

<sarcasm>A mother cannot have an "unwanted fetus" aborted because the baby isn't her property. All babies are God's property, so he can kill whichever he feels like.</sarcasm>

If the parents also lack a valid driver's license, then yes.

Actually, humans are STILL murderers when they kill with the permission of a higher authority. This is why "I was only following orders" was not a valid defense at the Nuremburg trials.

If God had struck Hitler down in the womb, then I wouldn't give a damn. Why? Because I don't regard an unborn fetus as qualifying as a sentient lifeform, not because it would have prevented the atrocities of WWII. In fact, if Hitler hadn't been there, I think there's a strong probability that someone else would have taken his place, and the only difference is that we'd now be reviling the name of (insert german name here) instead of Hitler.

And many of them have grown up to become drug-ridden bums who exploit the welfare system in order to feed their addiction. If God is aborting fetuses based on some kind of eugenics policy of not allowing deranged or deficient individuals to be born, then I would suggest that He's not doing a very good job.

Try, 'right makes might'.
A good person also needs laws (ethics & morals). Otherwise how can others know whether he's good or not ? To the person it may be right but to others it may be wrong. Get the drift yet ? Good people will also become criminals depending upon the law. Laws make people criminals not because criminals needs laws. If there's no laws, there will be no criminals.

There's no such thing as 'right makes might'. No matter how you wish to twist it, it still ends up as 'might makes right'. Either the might of a single omnipotent being who thought it's always right or a bunch of people gathering together thinking they have the 'right'.
