SUVs and religious proselytizers hit my hot button.

How soon we forget '73.

When was the last time you SUV owners forged a mountain stream or scaled mountain peaks as shown in Madison Avenue commercials? My Maxima gets 28 to 30 mpg and will blow any SUV off the road with regards to acceleration and handling. It seats five comfortably and has a huge trunk. It sticks to the road around corners that would have an SUV doing triple flips. SUVs are safer? Ha!

I learned that in Holland, the less MPG your vehicle gets, the more you have to pay in road taxes. You pay more to pollute our air. Sounds reasonable to me.

Ok SUV owners, your turn. (Better move this to the RRP forum)

Okay, okay....As hard as it is to put joking aside with this topic....Is it a bad thing that a group wants to decrease pollution and gas consumption?? Yes the reasons are whacked but the end result would be good?!

Nope, it's not a bad thing at all.

While they have one of those really tacky Jesus pix on their homepage (someone should urgently tell them to can that pic), they're doing a good job.

Actually, no, their reasons aren't whacked; it's their very basic ground premises (Jebus) that are whacked, but in the end who gives a stuff ? They're doing a good job of making the enviroment a moral issue; and given that they're already doing TV ads, they're doing a competent job of attempting to sway their target audience (True Believers) to enviromental protection.

I couldn't give a stuff if they're crackpot Christians, Satanists or New Agers; they're doing a good job with no nasty side effects.

Along these lines of thought:

If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favourable reference to the devil in the House of Commons. --- Churchill

As a carpenter, he'd obviously drive a pickup.

Later as a cult leader, he'd be driving one of those big 15 seater vans (that 60 minutes is always showing flip over and kill church groups) so he could seat all his apostles when they drop everything to follow him. Or maybe he just has the apostles drive in the van while he rides in a serious luxury car he bought from his followers giving up all they had to follow him.

I agree.
It`s just too bad that the only motivational carrot you can wave in front of all these morons smells like rotten Jesus.

And how come Jesus (and daddy or himself or whatever) can create the universe,Earth and atmosphere, but are completely unable to make any repairs?
The best Jesus can do in this dire situation is slightly slow the problem down by suggesting we drive smaller cars?

Thanks again for nothing Jesus.
