Post Church/State separation

Yesterday, Barry Lynn, the executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State debated a fundamentalist pastor. The debate was a live internet broadcast on his talk-show. You can listen to the archived debate at
<a href="http://www.kgov.com" target="_blank">http://www.kgov.com</a> It's the August 29th show.

What a jackass. He is currently pimping his videos and tapes.
Oh, now he's begging for money.

This is more evo/creation than church/state.

I haven't listened to it. But I checked out the site and found this:

<a href="http://kgov.com/gallery/religions/religions.htm" target="_blank">Moral Superiority of Christians over Heathen Orientals</a>

Quote:
Unlike Christianity, Hinduism discourages scientific achievement because of its fundamental concept of brahman, that the universe was produced through a female deity's power of illusion. Of course, the Bible teaches that the universe is real, and not like the Hindu concept of maya, that is, illusion. Hindus believe that the world is maya, i.e., illusion. And along with all Oriental religions, they think that salvation consists in escaping this illusion. But, since the universe is not an illusion but real, escaping it means to escape reality. Thus, Hinduism fundamentally keeps its adherents backward, and in ignorance, since the fundamental view of brahman (eternal essence) is that the universe is unreal. The scientific laws of thermodynamics do not sit well in such a philosophical setting. (By the way, the first and second laws of thermodynamics, upon which all of science is based, were defined by creationists from the Christian world, James Joule and Lord Kelvin.) Webster's 1998 Rev. Unabridged Dictionary defines the Hindu word maya as 'the name for the doctrine of the unreality of matter.' " -Bob Enyart

KGOV appears to advocate a return to a monarchy. (There's lots of Biblical support for it.)

<a href="http://shadowgov.com/Constitution/ConstitutionOfAmerica.html" target="_blank">New Constitution for America</a>

I haven't read enough to figure out where they are going to find this monarch. I'm sure there are some demented royals left in Europe we could tap.

Can people this bizarre actually run a radio station?

I began to listen to the program and discovered that it would be a waste of my time to listen very long after the opening question was posed to Pastor Lynn. Neither the interviewer nor Barry are qualified to discuss Evolution...or for that matter, any scientific discipline. That both would attempt to do so was most irritating. Unfortunately I must point a finger at Barry for allowing himself to be set-up by another self-professed religious fundamentalist. There was almost no possible way that Barry could respond to this extremely loaded question without being made to look like a fool.

The only response that might have had a chance at neutralizing the propaganda would have been for Barry to refer to the National Academy Of Sciences as the source of his original remarks, made on another show, about there being no scientific evidence for Creationism. Unfortunately Barry allowed this man to establish the entire tone of the discussion as well as spread his propaganda to an even larger audience.

The Monarch’s eldest son shall succeed him.

Upon inauguration of this Constitution, or, if the King meets his death and has no successor, America will hold a lottery to select the King. The Queen, or if none, the deceased King’s eldest daughter, or if none, America’s chief military officer, will oversee the national lottery. The overseer will draw lots to select one of the States of America, then a county, then a town or like geographic area, then a neighborhood or subdivision, then a block, then a family, then within that family a man of any age, whom the overseer crowns King.

Christians who carefully study the Bible are best qualified to teach the world how it should be governed.

"If the liberties of the American people are ever destroyed, they will fall by the hands of the clergy."

(Though this statement is often attributed to the Marquis de Lafayette, I spent over two years attempting to find an original source document for the quote and could not find one. However, IMO, that in no way detracts from the merits of the statement...regardless of its origins.)

Buffman-

Found the same quote below on a mile long text only quote list I stole from some web site years ago. Maybe yours is from the same source, but yours ain't got the author and his site. Just checked this Wayne dude's site and did not find this "fortune cookie file" that I have, but it may be there. Anyway, he looks like a good place to continue your search. Interesting site.

from my list:

ATHEISM/FREETHOUGHT fortune cookie file

Version: 3.6
Date: May 2, 1999 CE
