The serpent in Eden
As punishment for luring Eve into sin, it was to slither on the ground.
How exactly did it move about before the luring deed? Does the bible say, do you have a wacky theory? I don't know... DD - Love & Laughter |

003:015 And I(God) will put enmity between thee(serpent) and the woman, and between
thy(serpent) seed and her seed; it(the enmity???) shall bruise thy head, and thou (serpent??) shalt bruise his(whose heel?) heel. Can you help with this? DD - Love & Laughter |

Behind all this is the symbol of creation of life. It is the 'tree of life' aka penis, a thing that has ambivalent qualities. It is able to 'water the garden of joy' (Hebrew: 'gan eden') (vulva) also known in Sumer as 'Tilmun' - Sargon of akkad has captured ‘Tilmun’ with his hands - but it is also feared as a 'dragon' or as a 'straighten up serpent' (from woman's). The myths have associated this (on sky visible) 'dragon or serpent' all over the world with the figure of the milky way above on the sky: and on URL doormann.tripod.com/oro01.htm one can see how people have seen this 'dragon' all over the world. In the ancient Sumer this ‘dragon’ was known as ‘Mushusu’ mentioned in the ‘Enuma Elish’ and after the end of the Sumer’s this dragon was taken as this wacky story in the genesis. In the NT this straighten up serpent is also mentioned by Jesus. It is a symbol waiting to interpretate as symbol; gravity aspects have no meaning here. Volker |

Therefore, the greater serpent of the TOL strikes at the head of the lesser serpent of the TOK and she in turn strikes at the heel of Adam (the ego consciousness that is known only in the TOK), and this is what motivates him to greater heights (and he will crawl to get there). So we now have the ego in charge of the body human but his actions are partly Determined by the greater serpent of the TOL. |

I think the implication is that the serpent used to have legs.
Maybe someone thought up the story after discovering a serpent with vestigial legs. |
