Re: the Discovery Show on Eden
ED-IN is a Sumerian word meaning ’pastoral land’ most of Genesis is thought to be borrowed from early Mesopotamian mythology, by using the descriptions found in Genesis and a very old Sumerian poem “Enmakkar and the Gods of Erratta” they found an area in northern Iran that fit the bill, on a plateau with 4 rivers flowing outward, surrounded by mountains. There is a fairly large town there, seems like they weren’t tossed out after all.

You just knew the tourists would come and ruin it . . . what with their trash, their loud voices, and their heavy ordinance. . . .

I'm pretty sure that if I had a flaming sword I wouldn't let the kids anywhere near it.

“Any cherubs with flaming swords?”

Probably, cherubim and seraphim are most likely derived from the ancient Hebrew words for thunder and lightning.

Well most states require a child-safety lock. . . .

Did the flood drown the angels who were supposed to be protecting Eden?

Poor angels. Well, no doubt they went to heaven shortly afterwards.

There wore their special flood-repellant Wellingtons, "don't you know."
