Hell is the loving tradition of the christian dogma. Being 'up' or 'down' will not change the concept one bit. Both priest and preacher were just being clear and open about the cruel nature of their belief. |

Semi-relevant Smart Assed Comment
"The problem with our Baptists is that we do not hold them under water long enough."
--- William C. Brann, publisher of the newspaper The Iconoclast, of Waco, Texas (Vatican City of the Babtists), 1899. He got plugged in the middle of Main Street for his comments, in the year 1900. However, he got off a good shot at his assailant before he died, and dispatched his assailant to Heaven(we presume). |

Idea!
Maybe if these cruel preachers would get the crap beaten out of them more often, they might stop preaching that crap...or at least go away to the next town full of stupid suckers that tolerate it.

Hes in hell alright
Hes dead six feet under.
I think that an atheist should help comfort them and have them understand that the bible is a myth and prove it,Also assure the family that the deceased is just lifeless and dead not burning in an ever burning hell. After they collect their money from the suit. After what the priest did, they may be set free from the stupid religion.I am. I would but I live in the midwest. |

What is religion if not a crutch for some people in their time of need? The preachers may have been "telling it like it is", but couldn't their job be described in part in providing sollace for the needy. A hospital chaplain who told all of his cancer patients for example that they deserved to die would soon find himself out of a job...

If the priest stated this, he should be dismissed.
Any money paid to the Church for the funeral/wake should be returned. That is that. --J.D. |

Bonjour Ronin..... what would Jesus say?
From Matthew 25 .... " Away with you , you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his demons! for I was hungry and you did not feed me. I was thirsty and you did not give me anything to drink. I was a stranger and you did not invite me into your home. I was naked and you gave me no clothing. I was sick or in prison and you did not visit me" "Then they will reply, " Lord when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and not help you?" And he will answer " I assure you when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me" And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the rigtheous will go into eternal life" So... Ronin... why should anyone pay attention to the judgement of a minister preacher or priest over another man? |
