That is very interesting. He was asked for predictions that his model makes. He then stated that he doesn't have to provide any data yet. Okay, but what about the predictions?

I loved the jaw-dropping howler that saves him from the question he simply can't answer: What does his theory predict? Well, he says, theories aren't about prediction!
Of course, theories are about both explanation and prediction; but prediction is particularly important because explanatory power is easily put down to a warm fuzzy feeling one gets inside. Predictions enable tests. No prediction, no test. |
