Chevy & God
<a href="http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/2002-11-04-chevy-christian-tour_x.htm" target="_blank">Article</a> about Chevy sponsoring christian tour
I thought several different conflicting things, then settled on, "Those advertisers sure know how to target the most gullible and maleable audience, don't they. I'm sure it will make their sales soar. And the Christians probably think they're being targeted because Chevy supports their beliefs. And they probably think this validates the rightness of their beliefs, that a corporate giant would sponsor them. And they will never connect the dots to understand and admit that they are being manipulated for access to their wallets. Those advertisers are _good_, aren't they. Just like the ones on children's TV and the sales inside public schools. (respectful nod with a wry smile...) They're good." |
