Admiration - Bob Geldof, for being a 'drunk, foul mouthed paddy' (his words), but with more energy and genuine human compassion in his little finger than the sum of every religeous institution on the planet back in 1984.

Emulation - Paula Radcilffe - talent and honesty wrapped in as nice a person as you could ever wish to meet.

"I actually admire Zecharia Sitchin for having enough moxie to research and write about a topic labeled as "crackpot junk science/mythology".
Some people are never intimidated by prevailing ideas and have enough strength to espouse some pretty far out concepts."

I'll go along with that up to a point, he did get me interested in ancient history and the Sumerian origins of Bible stories. And he does seem quite sincere and persistent. But he did not originate this theory, it has been around since at least the 1920's (perhaps earlier) and one of the founders of the Mormon Church B. Young I believe, aluded to this as well. Even Carl Sagan in his younger days (1950's) was aware of the Oannes stories of Sumer and gave this idea some credence. If you've read his book 'Demon Haunted World' he lists ancient alien artifacts' as one of the 'pseudosicences' that deserves some investigation. Sitchin seems to go to far with many of his assumptions, he tries to make it into a soap opera of sorts.

Back to the topic at hand,
I try and emulate my dog

BTW You can catch Oannes himself in one of the first season Stargate SG-1 episodes.

"please explain who the person is"
Zecharia Sitchin is the author of "The 12th Planet" among other books, his theory is that all religions are based on encounters with Aliens in prehistory. Aliens came to Earth, genetically altered apelike hominids to create homosapiens to be their servants since they were stuck on Earth. Read the ancient poem "Atrahasis"

God is an alien.
There are many such old stories.

I saw that one, one of my favorite series Stargate SG-1.
Amazing how those writers kept the story line alive and following egyptian mythology.
In one episode SG-1 encounters an culture with
"Thor" the norse thunder god as their supreme being.
