NFLP, there's a highly entertaining <a href="http://iidb.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=58&t=001360&p=" target="_blank">thread</a> on Hovind's arrest in the Evolution/Creation forum but it hasn't been updated in a while.

I'm probably wrong here, but isn't Hovind breaking some sort of law by publishing his account on a public forum before his court appearance?

After reading all that, I had two thoughts.

1. Hovind is a meddlesome, narcisstic SOB. He's claiming he was being reasonable & friendly & helpful, yet the people he was talking to "flew into a rage". Does he ever stop to wonder why they might find him infuriating?

Hovind claims to have broken a rib and twisted an ankle. Both of these are very painful injuries. Yet he did not seek any medical treatment, and simply returned to his office to wait for the police?

No.

In fact it is never the case unless the judge gives a very specific order not to talk. And I believe that those are usually aimed at the lawyers who are, of course, considered to be officers of the court.

Now lawyers often tell their clients to keep their big mouth shut.

In any event, think about it. You heard about the First Amendment. A law that said defendants could not state their side of the story would be unconstitutional. Indeed you have almost certainly many people say they are innocent if you have ever watched the evening news.
