Mystery Ape
Seeking answers to big 'mystery ape'
Hybrid between a chimp and a gorilla? That seems kind of far fetched to me. Just from the limited photo, does that skull look like any particular extinct hominid to anyone? It certainly would be cool if this turns out to be an undocumented species. |

Sounds like the story is legit (at first I thought it might be a hoax, although I suppose it still might be). There's a story about it on National Geographic, including a slightly better picture:

There has also been speculation and tantalizing reports of a mystery ape in indonesia, a cousin to the Orangutan. I can't recall the name, though.
