Just looking for Views, nothing more...
Just wondering what you guys think about Psyhic Abilities. I had read a few posts before from others who don't seems to accept that such abilities could exist.
Again ... just wondering, nothing much. Thank you beforehand. |

I would believe them in a shot, if only there were any reliable evidence.

OK, thanks. Evidence is not easy to come around, is it? Best you get probably some people claiming they could do this and that. |

There is no evidence. It's totally bogus in my opinion. If it were true, why wouldn't they stop by and pick up James Randi's million dollars?

My question : What exactly did this James Randi required as proof? Floating above ground? Mind reading? Guessing games? |

Here you go, James Randi Foundation
He's been waiting 550 days now for the psychic, Sylvia Browne to show up. She accepted his challenge on the Larry King Live TV show. |

There really is no reason that psychic abilities should be so hard to detect if they existed. With a bit of imagination you realise how immensely powerful psychic abilities would be if they existed. This is why intelligence agencies wasted lots of money researching it. Also, if you could, say, beat the stock market by just 1% you'd be rich.
Someone (Arthur C. Clarke?) said that psychic powers are either non-existant or very ineffective, or they would have played a much more important role in human history. I concur. - Jan ...who rants and raves every day at Secular Blasphemy |

My reply : Depends on your defination of "ineffective", doesn't it? What about the young person who suddenly found himself having what others don't have? How will he feel being around others who seems to look at him in a weird way? I could imagine easily some young boy, sitting in a group of several and watching his older brother playing cards. His mind suddenly "shows" who will win the next card game round only to have it happening for real and this young boy continues to tell his brother when to bid more and when to bid less because he knows when they will win and when they will lose. When such boy shows such ability, what other boys will think of him? He is a freak? Someone to avoid? What will the boy thinks of himself? He is a freak that everyone wants to avoid? You think he will continue to display such abilities in the future if it means pain of isolation? Just edited to add a question - What about now? Are you willing to be around someone who could read your mind and "feel" your emotions like you feel your own? You will be comfortable talking to someone who can say the words you only thought of but haven't said yet? |
