Post Wasco has approved IGWT

<a href="http://bakersfield.com/local/story/786208p-860553c.html" target="_blank">Waso approves the proposal.</a>

You mall recall a thread a couple of weeks ago in which I posted a letter that I mailed to the Wasco City Council. Apparently, my letter had no influence in the decision.

(Actually, I wonder if they even received it...I found the address to City Hall off the interent, and it may have been invalid. Oh well... )

"I was encouraged to initiate it by Sullivan," Neufeld said. "It's a symbolic and patriotic gesture to honor our city, first of all. It honors our Founding Fathers, second, who also placed it on our money. And thirdly, it honors God, who gives us wisdom during our decision-making process."
this is the kinda thing that annoys me. The Founding Fahers did NOT invent IGWT, it was "E Pluribus Unum", second, since when did doG become a decision making aid in a secular government?

At least the writer of the article offered a (mild) correction:

Quote:
(According to U.S. Treasury documents, the motto was not added to U.S. coins until 1864, and was first included in the design of U.S. paper currency in 1957.)
