First of all; the wings... tres cool. I guess many people have the subconcious wish that they could fly, so perhaps that why I do tend to find the immage of an angel compelling to look at. If someone would call me an angel, I would take that as a compliment. Wouldn't want to be called an angel of death off course.
Angels are an aspect of religion that intrigues me. How they're fit in, with other aspects for instance. How would someone who believes in angels, see the need for divine winged helpers in combination with God's omnipotence (why would God need help)? Or the aspect of guardian angels. Bringing that up, in this place, is probably a one way ticket to the 'argument against evil'. If a guy get's beaten to death, while trying to defend some old lady... so when 'would' a guardian angel step in? Personally there are no questions I have, that would require an angel for an answer, and they would at the same time raise questions I need to struggle with like I need another hole in the head. But if one popped over for a cup of coffee and a little chat, I'd be cool with that. |

One relatively well thought out way of approaching this I've read was actually in a gaming book by White Wolf (Demon, for those interested). Anyways, the story goes like this:
God is perfect, and to change in any fashion would make him no longer perfect. God cannot touch creation in any way, lest he be changed by it. In the beginning, there was everything that was God, and the nothing that was to be creation. God created and used angels to enact his will upon creation. Now, while this is consistant with God sending angels in his stead to do many things in the Bible, the obvious problems are "Why would changing creation change God", and "Why could God create angels and not be changed?" I don't know. It was, after all, nothing more than a good story. *shrug* Check out the first 3-4 chapters of Demon: The Fallen if you're interested in an interesting work of fiction about angels, god, creation, and the fall. I love this topic! I once even took a class called "angelology" and I have a great many books on angels. I wrote a paper on them when I took systematic theology. I am a bit obsessed with them. It is my belief They are pure love and always with us. If I was not so darn tired I would write much much more, tomorrow Infinity
