Enemas and Coffee Breaks? TheWedding Ceremony-from the book Love Thine Enemas & Heal
The Wedding Ceremony-from the 5th edition of the book Love Thine Enemas & Heal Thyself by Dr. Jerry Glenn Knox BA, DC Send $6.95 for The Two Week Wedding Ceremony, shipping included.
LINK: http://216.190.69.19/wedding.html Just when I thought I've heard of most of the bizaare lengths to which faiths can bring humanity a recent discussion with a fellow skeptic who formerly worked in the Napa State Mental Hospital[yes, the Wine country] instigated a search online to verify what he was telling me about the private practices of certain religions such as the Seventh Day Adventists in this area of California as well as [according to him] Pentecostals, Episcopalians and even certain sects of Jews! To further back this up, he has a friend who is also a retired scientist of the Seventh Day Adventist faith who dicussed with him how the "cleansing of the bowels and the inner soul" is a family affair sometimes accompanied by their clergy performed on children as well as adults often more than once a month! Interestingly, this link which he found mentions the following bit of public controversy involving the [American?] Medical Association with respect to the administering of enemas "During the early 1990s a California state house representative tried to get a bill passed making the giving of an enema a felony. She failed very dramatically, and was subsequently voted out of office even though the medical association donated nearly a million dollars to her campaign." Here's the result of the search for the California state house representative in Google Search: http://www.google.com/search?q=enema%201990%20california%20state%20house %20representative&ie=utf8 In closing, while I tried a search at Infidels.org there were only two listings not related to Seventh Day Adventists and enemas, so, I keyed in "religious enema" and those were the only two to pop up so perhaps this little bit of information may be of interest next time a discussion is overheard about "cleansing the inner soul." Well, here's yet another sect which I was unable to find in the search engine at Infidels-time to crank up Zappa's tune again and do a double take next time someone asks if you'd like to come over for a "Coffee break!" --"Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir-haresh." --Isaiah 16:11 from: http://www.atheists.org/church/guide.html#grand [ August 11, 2002: Message edited by: Plebe ]
|
