Post More on whale evolution

The origin of whales is rapidly becoming one of the crown jewels of evolutionary theory (although discoveries concerning the origins of angiosperms, birds, and tetrapods, among other groups, are also coming too fast for the creationists to keep up with):

Over the last decade many new whale fossils have been found which show how this dramatic change happened. Skeletons of the transitional species (“whales with limbs&#8221 ) demonstrate that they were adept, otter-like swimmers.
(emphasis mine)

Take that, creationists.

No, "whales with legs" are their own unique kind. There's no transitional fossils between "land whales" and "whales with legs", and "whales with legs" and modern whales.

How do you tell if a whale is a more on or not? Mind you, the way they follow factory ships around to see if they will throw some giblets overboard makes may think they may well be cret ins at least.

Brings to mind a recent creationist I have the pleasure of talking to, after I detailed the TO transitional FAQ:

"There's no evidence they are transitional, they are just extinct species"

I would like to see evidence of these transitional whales, if it is like other supposed transitional animals in the past, it will be proven to be bits and pieces of multiple animals, just as past discoveries have been disproven.

JF, what are you basing this statement on? The fossil record is chock-full of transitional species. A tiny minority have been found to be mistakes. A very few were found to be frauds.

Which past discoveries are you referring to, that have been "disproven"?

http://www.talkorigins.org/features/whales/

Here's a recent, very complete article on whale evolution which appeared in "Reports" of the NCSE.

It is replete with "transitionals." Now, what was it someone was saying about whale evolution being "disproven?"

I wonder if any creationists will actually read the article and post a response, or whether the goal posts will be moved instead.

Say, don't you folks know how to use Google to look up this stuff?
