Default Urantia

Anyone familiar with this "religion" (i.e. cult)? A kinda kooky friend of mine claims he has studied religious and spiritual philosophies for decades now, and this is the only one that gives him truly satisfying answers to his questions about life, the universe and everything. It sounded bizzare, from what little he told me. They apparantly believe that after you die you inhabit your own planet somewhere in the universe, and there is no suffering or imperfection on your planet. I briefly Googled it, and found out that there is a "Book of Urantia" that was written by some person or persons who received a revelation from God (where have I heard that before??) just a few decades ago. Am really interested in hearing any personal anecdotes regarding Urantia. Thanks!

I just know that it is a very long involved string of jibber jabber that was written down by someone in a trance, "channeled" I guess they call it.
It describes a highly bureaucratic universe not unlike Scientology. Even people who believe that some folks really do ‘channel’ information from somewhere else, they admit it is often unreliable and contradictory. Which means it is really just someone rambling in their sleep or else higher beings enjoy fucking with us dumbass humans.
