Angry THE NEW WORLD RELIGION

I don't know about you folks but this has got to stop...These COMMUNIST judges are selling out America and crafting their own brand of legislation from the bench.

How can little Johnny and Suzie violate the Constitution by uttering the words 'under God' while reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in a public school?
I think you misunderstand the ruling. Your "little Johnny and Suzie" are not violating the constitution by uttering the phrase "under god"; it is the public (i.e. government)school system that violates the first ammendment's establishment clause by forcing them to utter that phrase.

This seems to be a common misconception about court rulings restricting xtian activities in public schools, or is it a common misrepresentation? Fundamentalist xtians often like to make claims like "our children can't pray in the schools anymore". Nothing can be further from the truth. The school can't make a child pray. Nothing and nobody keeps the child from praying on her own.

Does that mean the 1954 Act of Congress that added "under God" to the pledge was likewise "radical"? Or is it just the rulings you don't like?

If the Earth Summiteers have their way, Johnny and Suzie will not be able to pledge allegiance to "one nation, under God,"</strong>
They won't? Will the pledge police be present at every reciting to make sure "under God" doesn't show up?

but they will be able to pledge to "One World, under Gaia" -- that is, Mother Earth.</strong>
Sure. They are able to pledge to "one hell, under Satan" if they want. How would you suggest we stop them?

They will not be allowed to have the Ten Commandments or the Holy Bible in class,</strong>
Nonsense. What they will not be allowed to do is pull the Bible from their backpacks and read Scripture to the class.

Right. Nothing like a little outrageously inaccurate rhetoric to get the blood boiling.

Mods:

Due to The New American's rather stringent <a href="http://www.thenewamerican.com/website/copyright.htm" target="_blank">copyright policy</a>, I would suggest the copied text of the OP (everything after the link) be deleted. (The other posts are probably OK as the posters actually comment on the quoted material and thus meet Fair Use requirements).
