Wink

Lunachick:

You mean, I've been duped? The Catholic Church is actually corrupt? They do not want me to think for myself? They are a crinimal organization? They canonize saints to get my little, brain-washed mind off the scandals?

Yeah, pretty much.

Sorry Gemma - I'm not in much of a joking mood today. So save the winks for another, brighter day.

I'm sorry -- I pray it will get better.

Gemma

You love the catholic church.

Nothing more to say other than that I pity you from the very bottom of my Atheist heart and hope for your eventual enlightenment.

Oh, I'm relatively new here, but why do you haunt this site?

You don't need to pray for me, Gemma.

But I would like an answer as to how you feel the Church (and the Law) should punish those who committed these crimes, and those who protected them? How should the Church make amends to the victims and to the community at large?

I'm not sure, but my guess would be because she has very little else to do.

(Edited to add the relevant quote.

I have no authority to even speculate on this topic.

Everyone needs prayers.

Lunachick

What crimes? Those are privileges of the clergy.

I am not familar enough with civil law in MA and canon law to speak with authority on this topic. Further, I do not hold an office or position of power in the Roman Catholic Church.
