Cry me a river, Gurdur. You said you were interested in Radorth's factual responses. I was merely calling him on a response that was hardly that.

If you just want dialogue between yourself and Radorth, take it to PMs. Otherwise, like I said before, cry me a river.

No, I'm taking it to the moderators of this forum.

Your arrogant and trollish hijacking stinks.

Feel free. I haven't broken any forum rules.

Furthermore, this is a discussion about Radorth. My posts concerned Radorth. I haven't hijacked the discussion, because it's STILL about Radorth. You said in your OP that you didn't want this thread to turn into a flame war. It's not a flame war as of this moment. So I fail to see what the problem is.

I'm sorry. I don't wish to discuss how "nilhism infects" my Christianity. It seems you have formed an opinion already, for one thing. I don't understand nilhism, am not much interested in aquiring philosophical labels, and I feel no great need to defend myself except against specific examples and charges. Moreover I think this discussion would lead us into my having to expose much of my personal life and I do not wish to do so unless I have a more compelling reason.

Oh, I do feel free. As for forum rules, you're attempting to hijack.

No; it's a discussion with Radorth, tightly focused on certain questions.

And an attack on me. Cry me a river and bugger off, Daggah; I'm taking this to the mods.

And you tried immediately to turn it into a flame war, with your own little personal problems.

This will be my last reply to you here.

I illustrated why I thought so, naming your comments in the "Prince of Peace" thread, and asked you if you thought Christianity had any practical social benefits here on earth, in your opinion.

Perhaps you could answer that last question, without delving into your personal life ?

So you want a discussion WITH Radorth? The boards have a feature just for that. They're called PMs. I.e., private messages.

And what attack have I made on you?

And again, how am I hijacking? This is a thread about Radorth (it's not a discussion WITH Radorth - if it were that you would've done it privately). My posts up until your bitching have been about Radorth.

Take it to the mods. I'm confident they'll agree.

I leave you with your own words:

A note to others: I am really interested in Radorth's factual answers to these questions; and I'ld prefer it if this thread doesn't turn into a flame war.
Thank-you.
It's not a flame war. I haven't turned it into a flame war.

Well if you limit it to that, yes of course I do. I did a thread called "Authentic disciples" which was placed in the old "Rants" forum (for reasons which still escape me.) There I listed a large number of social firsts and accomplishments of Christians one will not find in skeptics.org library.

I think Franklin calling the effect of Whitefield's preaching on the citizens of Philadelphia "wonderful" is an example of a two-dimensional skeptic aquiring doubts about his doubts. Franklin was a stickler for "good works" to prove social usefulness.

When Jesus says "To whom much is given, much will be required" he is talking about how we use our gifts, money, and abilities here as well as in kingdom come. Although I do not believe one can lose their salvation, I am one of only three Protestants on earth who believes in purgatory.

(At least I hope there are two others)

[moderator hat]

You're absolutely correct, Daggah. You didn't break any forum rules (any that I can see, anyway). However, you did break into a thread that was, for all intents and purposes, going swimmingly until the interjection.

This thread is allows Radorth to answer questions people may have about his religious beliefs (which are perfectly valid) and gives him the opportunity to answer. If you want to poke fun at someone's beliefs, do so in PM or in ~Elsewhere~. If you want to argue with someone or call someone a whiner, do it in PM or in ~Elsewhere~.

Radorth, if you get uncomfortable with the way this thread is going, just PM any of the moderators and we'll shut it down. It's tough to have a thread specifically aimed at you - especially if it gets weird.
