Default Baffled

I'm sure everyone's heard by now of the Texas lady who killed two of her sons with great big rocks the day before Mother's Day...and tried to kill a third...apparently on what she took to be orders from God.
This isn't new, of course--in one form or another, God has been telling people to do evil things since the dawn of man. This is (at least) the third example in recent memory in which He's told a mother to kill her children.

What baffles me is the attitude expressed by the congregation of the little church where the family worshipped:
"More than 200 members crowded into the church cried, waved their hands and vocally praised God during a prayer for the family."

Praised God for what!?

Praised God for what!?

Good question. God wasn't there, neither to instruct the obviously deeply mentally disturbed woman to kill her children nor to prevent her from doing so.

God ain't there, folks. When will people realize this? The world sends this message loud and clear every day.

For not killing them of course God has been kind enough to spare them.

God's alibi is that the Serpent of Satan took the guise of God and deceived her just as the Serpent deceived Eve.

Case dismissed for lack of evidence.

Wink

God, being omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent, was present during this deception and, therefore ~

1. was present during the premeditation and commision of the horrendous crime.

2. did not prevent the crime, defend or render aid to the children

3. made no statement to police regarding his culpability.

God = guilt as charged...should the silly bastard have existed at all.

But that would have interfered with the woman's "free will" to believe that he had told her to kill her children.

Doesn't anyone ever decide to join those who are allegedly in a "better place"?
