Radiometric Dating
I just thought I would mention that my Radiometric Dating Resource List has, since May 2002, now passed 10,000 hits. Maybe not one of those mega-blockbuster pages, but somebody's looking. It was over 10,000 once before, but Geocities reset my counter last May, I think.
Something big happened in March 2003, last month, when my hit rate skyrocketed; there were 1657 hits that month! Any ideas why? About 1/3 of my total hits come from the Talk.Origins Archive, so people visiting there are looking over. Most of the rest come from Google searches, where my page comes up 2nd if you just look for "radiometric dating". In fact, the top 5 pages are all anti YEC pages, and Google orders the pages by the number of links to them. So there are more anti-YEC pages being linked to than YECers. That's gotta be a plus. Cheers. |

the vast majority of links and not yours might have been the cause. But that was done in January. (The "trimmed" links are now included in an "unabridged" page.) Well according to Alexa your web site is now #1,588,208 T.O. is #68,341 (#33,258 for just today the best I ever seen -- some news item or widely popular thread must have made a link.) Google looks at the number of pages linking to a site (though each linking site is weighed by its own rank). Google also information about what search results people click on as well. |

Well, I'm not sure where the other 1,000 came from, but I have been referencing your site frequently over the last several months. I have also been linking your site in several discussions of radiometric dating. I don't know why, but the topic has come up in several discussions in just the last couple of months. Maybe the other 1,000 hits have been curious creationists.
I don't care what anyone says, I'm going to take the credit. Most of those hits (the 1,000 that weren't me) have been from creationists who failed to respond after I linked your site. They were devestated by the information available there. Oh! How I love this dream world in which I live! How have you been, Tim? Haven't seen you around in some time. More interesting (or pressing) things afoot, I suspect. |

More interesting, I'm afraid so (about the 15000th time I refute the same 100 year old creationist argument, it gets less interesting). More pressing, for sure. I am engaged in software development to support observers using the Space Infrared Telescope Facility (SIRTF), which has once again had its launch date delayed, this time until mid August.
