However, the evidence shows that our Founding Fathers had had more interest in the likes of <a href="http://www.sms.org/mdl-indx/polybius/intro.htm" target="_blank">Polybius</a> than the Bible (Polybius had lived in the Greco-Roman world from ~200 BCE to ~120 BCE). And Polybius and his fellow Greco-Roman historians were often much more rational than anyone in the Bible.

And that guy has never heard of the Divine Right of Kings and similar political doctrines.

"Taking God ...[out of the pledge] is raping the very fabric of the Constitution."

Now we're "rapists." That's wonderful. And let's just conveniently forget that "under God" was added to the Pledge in 1954.

Given the uninformed level of discussion (I use that word loosely) the Pledge issue has whipped up, I wonder how many American civics teachers are hanging their heads in shame?

Hey, CBN II (Fox News) is now putting on blatently false letters from Atheists saying that they have no problems with god being mentioned, religious people or prayer in the schools...and that they, being Atheists, can't stand the guy who brought the suit and don't personally know any Atheists who share his opinions.
