any good books lately?
hello everyone,
i recently read an excellent book about god and philosophy, written by a philisopher named gilson. it was rather a history of philosophy from the greeks to contemporary thinkers, all on their efforts at applying natural philosophy to the concept of god. a very good read, indeed. i was wondering, have you all read any good books lately on natural philosophy and god, atheism/theism, that you might recommend? who is on the cutting edge of the question? thanks, reuel. |

Books...
If you have access to a large college library (Your city/public library CARD will almost certainly get you courtesy/borrower's privileges at any college library. Try it!) you might go to the horse's mouth, theologywise. (His foreword to the Summa theologiae says he's writing it for the benefit of ordinary interested people.) Try Thomas Aquinas straight out of the bottle = either of his two *Summa*s, which may be weirdly catalogued under some other title (as they are at my local RC college library)...... Just look up "author" >>>> Thomas Aquinas. and go to whatever books they tell you.
Blessings on your curiosity. |

reuel,
Welcome to IIDB. Since your OP isn't about Existence of God(s), I'm moving it to the forum for General Religious Discussions, as I think you're asking good questions and need serious answers, but they're more equipped to answer it there. d |
