TN Intolerance Wins out!!
This was in our local newspaper today:
Judge dismisses lawsuit filed by American Atheists {requires free registration} GREENEVILLE — A U.S. District Court Judge has dismissed a $250,000 civil rights lawsuit filed by the Tennessee state director of the American Association of Atheists against a Johnson City company that she alleged fired her because she is an atheist. . . . According to Hull, ACS collections director Mark Sanders testified he did not recall receiving any report bout the Jesus picture being taped on Sims computer and only remembered being told that Sims created a disruption and that two other employees asked to be moved away from her. When Sanders, who Hull said appeared to know a great deal about Sims’ notoriety, told ACS vice president of operations Russell Rogers she was an atheist, Rogers replied “I don’t care what she is, that has nothing to do with this. She is disrupting collections and I don’t want her back.” Hull found that because Rogers’ was given partial or “perhaps slanted information” that made it appear Sims instigated the incident, his decision to end her employment may have been made in error but did not constitute an intentional discrimination. :banghead: {sorry - copyright material beyond free use replaced with URL} |

This is pretty outrageous. If your Christian coworkers lie about you, and your boss doesn't bother to investigate, you can just be fired based on false information. I hope they can get this reversed on appeal.
