Mark of the Beast version 9.5 or higher
Hi. I'm sort of picking up a thread from another chatroom, i'd like to hear more non-christian responses to this. There has to be a logical explanation aside from "It's the antichrist! Hide the children!" I'm new, so i apologize if this topic has been brought up. Feel free to refer me to the original thread if there is one!
This is about the recently approved microchip with GPS that people can have implanted in themselves, for id and medical purposes etc. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nf/20020405/tc_nf/17127 Now i don't particularly want this thing in my body. And as far as the mark on the arm, there are some parallels to the book of Revelations. I was brought up believing in this stuff and it is somewhat scary to me, even though i am trying to think for myself. So i'd like some responses on why this can't be the mark of the beast. |

Umm...because Revelations appears to be the rambling hallucinations of a man smoking who-knows-what, and there has been, is, and will be no beast?

But do you think it seems similar to the revelations story? I'm not trying to sound naieve here.
Think of it this way, if i were a fundie scared to death of the end of the world, what would you tell me? (other than #### off, of course.) [ April 07, 2002: Message edited by: cydonia ]
|

It may sound similar, but so do many other things I've heard claimed as definitive marks of the beast in the past. Next year I'm sure something else will be touted as the "mark." Even "the bible answer man" Hank Henagraf (sp) refers to this kind of thing as "newspaper theology."

I'll have to look that guy up. At least UPC codes are off the hook for the time being.
