The Fellowship / The Foundation
I read a fairly creepy article about this very influential group of fundies who seek to create a theocracy a few weeks ago, I can't remember which magazine it was in (possibly it was The Atlantic or New Yorker). They're in the news now because they're subsidizing the accomodations of six congressmen. The article I read a while back was by a reporter who claimed to have infiltrated them, and his firsthand experience was fairly creepy ("Brothers, let us thank Jesus for the game of Bounce*" being the mild stuff). Anyway, the writer said a lot of fairly important people are involved in this group. Does anyone have any other information about these people? What's your view on religious groups subsidizing congressional housing?
